 La Nouvelle Etoile
|
La Nouvelle Etoile sets the standards in the barging world for luxury, sophistication, and modern amenities. With spacious suites,
hand-crafted teakwood furnishings, and extras like Internet access, an on-board hot tub, and exercise facilities, it's easy to see
why La Nouvelle Etoile is a favorite among seasoned and novice barge travelers alike.
La Nouvelle Etoile offers an enormous amount of spacious comfort to her guests by limiting guests to just 8 where other barges of the
same size might book double the number of guests or more. Therefore, you'll never feel cramped and you'll love the personalized service
provided by the crew, as well.
Jan and Diana Meijer, the owners of La Nouvelle Etoile, work hard to ensure your every need and wish will be anticipated while on board.
Meticulous attention to detail is evident throughout - from the custom made dining table set with Wedgwood china and Christofle silver in
the dining area to the selection of fine linens, and fresh flowers and fruit found in each suite. The warm furnishings invite you to
relax and enjoy your time inside the vessel, and the comfortable patio furniture on the deck creates an inviting atmosphere perfect
for enjoying the sun and the breathtaking passing scenery.
|
La Nouvelle Etoile is a revelation for all discerning barging clients. Her magnificent, spacious suites,
each with sumptuous private bathroom with double wash basins, oversized showers and refined decor
are a marvel to behold.
Suites feature large windows that are right on the water's edge - not small portholes in the ceiling or above eye level,
so you can enjoy the sights even from your stateroom. Each suite also offers Internet access with flat-screen monitors and satellite TV,
king size beds that can be converted to twins, ample storage space, and a safety deposit box.
One suite is fully wheelchair accessible. In addition, La Nouvelle Etoile offers an elevator from salon level to stateroom level for
complete handicap accessibility.

Sunday - After being met by La Nouvelle Etoile's driver you will taken to the barge which will be moored in the heart of Paris for a
wonderful champagne welcome. You will have the afternoon to relax as the barge sails down the Seine past Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. The barge
will moor the first night in the Latin Quarter where you will enjoy the first of many gourmet meals on board.
Monday - Enjoy a morning cruise out of Paris onto the Marne River where you will have lunch and then visit the magnificent Château
of Vaux-le-Vicomte. You will re-join the barge in Meaux in time to stroll around the town and visit the cathedral.
Tuesday - This morning the barge cruises from Meaux to La Ferte with an afternoon visit to Coulommiers, one of the centers of Brie
cheese making. You will enjoy a tasting of the various Brie cheeses with a master cheese maker, along with wines from his excellent cellar.
Wednesday - You are now in Champagne as the barge makes her way to Charly-sur-Marne. Stop to enjoy the wonderful champagne of a small
family vineyard before an afternoon cruise to Château Thierry, the scene of American battles during World War I. There will be an
optional trip to visit Belleau Wood battlefield.
Thursday - The Marne River takes you through vine-covered hills dotted with small wine villages to the delightful little town of Damery.
Here you will visit the vast cellars of Moët & Chandon and a private tasting of the champagne.
Friday - The barge leaves the Marne River for a small canal leading to Épernay. You will visit the Abbey of Hautvilliers where the
monk Dom Pérignon first made champagne. After an afternoon drive to Reims Cathedral you'll return to La Nouvelle Etoile for your last gourmet
dinner on board and a farewell party.
Saturday - After your last elegant breakfast on board, you will be driven to either your hotel or the airport.
