a welcome reception and dinner aboard.
Monday - Today you'll visit the 16th century château of Ancy-le-Franc, one of the finest examples of Renaissance
architecture in Burgundy. The interiors are furnished with a number of original period pieces. After lunch you'll rejoin Nenuphar
for a cruise on the winding Canal de Bourgogne to the evening mooring in Tanlay.
Tuesday - Stroll a tree-lined avenue to the 17th century Château de Tanlay. Inside, you'll see fine furnishings and
tapestries, and the Grand Salon decorated with Illusionist paintings from the Fontainebleau School. The afternoon's cruise is to the
village of Charrey.
Wednesday - The day begins with a cruise along a lovely section of the Canal de Bourgogne to Brienon-sur-Armancon. Then you'll
take a drive to Chablis, the northernmost wine growing region in Burgundy. A dramatic overlook offers sweeping vistas of the Grand Cru
and Premier Cru vineyards. In the village, you'll sample these popular white wines at the cellars of a private vintner.
Thursday - Today's cruise is along the Canal de Bourgogne and the River Yonne to Joigny. There you'll tour the Romanesque Abbaye
de Pontigny, the earliest Cistercian building surviving in France. In 1164, Thomas á Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, sought refuge
here during his fatal dispute with Henry II. Tonight you'll enjoy dinner ashore at the Michelin three-star restaurant, La Côte Saint
Jacques, in Joigny.
Friday - Nenuphar will cruise to the final mooring in the village of Gurgy, on the outskirts of Auxerre. You'll tour the historic
port city of Auxerre where the spires of three great churches form an impressive skyline above the river. Stroll the ancient cobblestone
streets of the old quarter and sample the wares of the local merchants. Then return to Nenuphar for the gala Captain's Dinner aboard.
